People sometimes say, "Whatever happened to Brendan Block?" I saw it myself in the News of the World the other day. That was the bloody headline. Can you imagine that? There was a picture of me in the middle of the page, collecting my dry-cleaning of all things. I didn't read the article, though I'm sure it was absolutely terrible...

"As you can see, Brendan has gone back to his old killer ways... of picking up dry-cleaning!" Even after all this time, people are still talking about it. That bitch Mirrie isn't even dead.

I'm not going to bore you with my life story because, quite frankly, it's a load of bollocks. Seriously, people assume I must have had a terrible life because of what I supposedly did. They couldn't be more wrong, I love my life.

All I can say is, an ex of mine, Miranda Cotton, went a little psycho on me. That's the story I tell anyway. And nobody would ever have had to know the truth. But now, now she's come back, and I just pray that she stays the hell out of my business because I am in no mood to even look at her after what she did.

You can't just let people believe I killed you and then come back, it's not right.

I only got out of jail because there was a lovely DCI, blonde she was, hair cut in a bob like Miri. She helped me, and yes, we stayed in touch for a while before she left.

I don't quite know where she went. Not to worry, though.

So... acquitted of Miranda's murder when she was stupid enough to come back to England, and they could never prove that I killed Laura or Troy anyway, I'm now in bloody Blackpool, early release on parole. Got a nice wee relocation package out of it though, even if this town is a dive.

Brendan Block, is pretty much the Worst Boyfriend Ever for 30 year old London architect Miranda Cotton in canon. In the early days of their short relationship, he shifts so smoothly from being weird and sinister to being adorable and charming. Like Miranda, you’re not even sure if you saw it. He effortlessly has everyone fooled with his charm and smiles, like she is. Soon enough, though, his true stalkerish colors are shining through, and she dumps him. With this he is not pleased, and embarks upon a plan to bring about heartbreak and ruin to not merely Miranda herself but all those she loves. Seriously, you won’t believe how evil Brendan will get, all the while presenting the immaculate facade of 'nice guy' to her entire family.

Miranda watches in horror as her jilted boyfriend vengefully destroys the lives of those around her. Brendan seduces her sister, then her best friend, even commits murder, while all around her regard Miranda's warnings as the neurotic babblings of a spurned woman.

On a broader scale, outside the plot that canon dictates, Brendan is a classic sociopath. He's a womanizer, spurred on by an uncontrollable lust and quest for power, and you're left with nothing but pity for any woman that has the misfortune to get involved with him. He thrives on control, and will stop at nothing to reap his own needs or in worse case scenario, exact his revenge. Obsessive, possessive, manipulative, violent, aggressive; Brendan ticks all these deliciously evil check boxes, all the while not losing his vice like grip on both that cool exterior of being everyone's best friend, and his personal agenda. On the surface he is ever-smooth, ever-charming and ever-confident, and can change personalities as easily as a chameleon changes color.
